3 Questions to ask after your Big Day

I'm writing this on the Monday after Easter...

I believe it's critically important to take time to reflect on your past Sunday. The bigger the Sunday, the more work and time spent in planning, the more necessary to reflect.

Here are 3 simple questions to ask about your big day.

#1  What worked
It's important to start POSITIVE! Set aside all critiques, beefs, and mistakes for now and let's celebrate what went right.  I've been in many a meeting that started in a negative nose dive and never pulled out of it.  #Discouraging

Make it a policy of yours and everyone you reflect with to start with WHAT WORKED!

#2 What didn't work
It's also necessary to be realistic about what didn't work. The motive here needs to be better moving forward not to punish someone - This should be communicated!! We should also strive to be specific in our critiques and avoid wide sweeping statements. This will greater help to be better in the future.

I've been in churches that refused to admit something went wrong - they always chalked it up to "it must have been God's will."  I don't think this is healthy.

We need to have a culture that can own their mistakes and care enough to improve.

#3 What would you change
Turn your negatives into change.

I've been in churches that have said "I wouldn't change a thing..."  - it almost makes me want to scream thinking about that.  There is always going to be something we could change for the better.  So let's figure that out.

  • Have something to add?
  • How do you reflect on the past Sunday?
  • How was your Easter?
