Colossians 1:15 "the image of the invisible God"
I've always loved the words - Image of the Invisible. It always plays with my head. How can something invisible have an image? Well... Jesus is that Invisible God made Visible.
Hebrews 1:3 Jesus is "the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being"
The word Being here is hypostasis g5287 and it is interestingly the same word used in Hebrews 11:1 "Now Faith is the SUBSTANCE/Hypostasis of things hoped for.
Basically... Jesus isn't a knock off painting that kind of looks like the Original. He's not just a son that kinda looks like his dad because of Hereditary genes. Jesus is the Nature, Substance Person, Being of God revealed in human form. Jesus is the Substance of all the things we hope for!
The Word of God tells us very clearly that Jesus is what God's Face would look like. After all, when You've seen Jesus, You have seen the Father (John 14:9).
