I know I'm late... but I'm ready to Rock! |
#1 Show up Late!
A good rehearsal starts on time. It's that simple.
#2 Show up Late without Calling!!
Seriously!! To not call is such a slap in the face! Also I might add calling 5 minutes before practice saying that you will be 20 minutes late doesn't give you any brownie points either! *I got to say I was tempted to repeat "Show up late" for #3 and "Without Calling" for #4... I think you get my passion without my redundant redundancy. :)
#3 Have a bad or apathetic attitude
I HATE it when people treat their band mates worse than telemarketers or show more respect to a crummy day job than their band. If you don't want to be here... then do us all a favor. We will find someone that wants to be here.
#4 Show up unprepared
Of course we can wait for you to string your guitar...
You might tune that Guitar |
#5 Don't warm up
This goes for singers and instrumentalists both!
#6 Playing the BLAME GAME
Own your mistakes. Don't always try to assign blame. The bass player knows he came in early that last time... he doesn't need you to point it out. Now on the 3rd time... Let him have it! Bass players can take it... after all... they have no feelings.
#7 Wasting time during rehearsal/Taking phone calls
If we want people to respect rehearsal time, then rehearsal has respect people's time!
#8 Noodling! Noodling! Noodling! (Hear me guitarist!?)
Ok guys... *noodle, noodle* ...let's try it again but this.... *noodle, noodle, noodle* ... time let's.. *noodle* CAN YOU PLEASE STOP!
In case you don't know... "noodling" is Slang meaning to improvise aimlessly on a musical instrument. For example someone playing on their instrument pointlessly while someone is trying to talk through a chart.
#9 Practice Time Runs Looooong
If it starts on time than you sure better end on time!
Have a great Friday, Friday, gonna get down on Friday... |
It would be a shame not to thank your team. We should be thankful for their gifts and their dedication. We would be hurting without them! ALSO... take the time to pray for them. You never know, someone might have had a terrible day and needs that connection. It also insures that we make Jesus a part of everything we do!
That's my top 10. What's yours? Did I miss anything? I'd love to hear from you.
