Eye of the beholder...

I was walking through the Artisan Collective art gallery in the Bishops Art District of Dallas and saw something that made me do a double take... It was too bizarre for me to say I like it... and I consider myself pretty open minded... It got me thinking...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Who am I to say this piece shouldn't sell for $1800...

Art is funny isn't it?  It's so subjective. Everyone is a judge of the work.

A lot of artists never reveal their creation for fear that someone will not like their work... Well they are right... someone won't like it. That's something every artist has to get over.

A good artist needs the confidence to hold up their art, their work, their book, their song, their instrument... and say... here it is, take it or leave it.

...Displaying that confidence is in itself, beautiful.

I'd like to know...
How do we create a culture of confidence? A Culture were everyone puts their work/ideas on display without fear of rejection?

What is the first step for that to happen within the Church?

What do you think?
