3 steps to solve your problem. Triple AAA

No one likes problems? People will go out of their way to avoid problems... but it usually only creates more... that's right... PROBLEMS!

The truth is that we will all face troubles almost constantly. I found this story in the Bible that helped me understand how to best respond to problems.  If you stay calm and follow these simple steps you will guide yourself through your problem and toward your solution.

From the Bible...
So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of (Jewish)priests became obedient to the faith.

I have a question for you. What do you think lead to this particular "revival?"  What caused the Word to
spread? Discipleship to increase?  Jewish Priests to convert? What caused it? Of course God is part of the equation, He always is, but it would be a serious oversight (and cop out) to not take into account the man made actions.
Please think for a moment, try to come up with a few answers.

I asked this, "What caused it?," question at a small group meeting this week and the responses where all over the map. Love, Prayer, Community, Studying the Bible, Faith, sharing Faith, The Holy Ghost...  All fine answers right?  Bot not the answer in this scripture's context.

The Scripture comes from Acts 6. I think its a fascinating Chapter by the way! In Chapter 6 we see the Church coming under fire! The body of Christ was being criticized for racism and discrimination. (Good thing that doesn't happen today... right guys...) Greek and Hebrew speaking believers were not getting along and because of it, some widows where going hungry.

This is what lead to the revival... A PROBLEM!

Well to be accurate... Revival came as the Church Leaders admitted, analyzed, and addressed the problem.
Call Triple A - Admit, Analyze, Address
The Disciples didn't turn a blind eye. They admitted it was a serious problem and met together to analyze it. They put together a plan to address it! STOP THE PRESSES! You and I have been in organizations both sacred and secular that failed to admit to, analyze, and address obvious problems! The early church leaders deserve serious props, kudos, and other congratulatory jargon and we today could learn a lot for it!

The disciples realized they were sooo busy ministering to the Spiritual needs of their community, that some of the natural aspects of their community had suffered. They showed great wisdom in their response. They didn't do the knee jerk reaction and abandon ministering to the Spiritual needs. Instead they continued ministering in Word and prayer and chose seven men who were full of the Spirit and wisdom and turned these Natural responsibilities of care and food distribution over to them.

It was after they admitted to and addressed the problem that Acts 6:7 happened. "So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of (Jewish)priests became obedient to the faith."

How we respond to Problems defines our success. Problems always reveal something about our organization... Something that is missing, something that is wrong, or off balance.
In this case, the problem of neglect revealed a missing ingredient.... Service.

Ask yourself, "What is a problem in my organization, Church, Business, Family or Team?"

Admit the Problem!
No need to finger point here. Just take the blame as an organization and move on!
Analyze the Problem!

Discover if something is missing, if something is wrong, or if something is off balance.

Address the Problem!
It might mean adding something or someone to your system because a mechanism or role was missing.

It might mean removing something or someone becuase it or they are wrong.
It might mean bringing change to your structure or focus because something is off balance.

Every Church, every Team, and every organization has problem areas they can improve. DO NOT TURN A BLIND EYE TO YOUR PROBLEM! Call triple AAA early and often.
